Orioles' Cam Sanders: Demoted to Norfolk
Baltimore optioned Sanders to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
After picking up a win and his first career save in two outings with the big-league club since being called up on Friday, Sanders is going back to Triple-A. The 29-year-old went a combined 1.2 innings, recording two strikeouts for the Orioles. Sam Huff will replace Sanders on the active roster as the corresponding move.

Orioles' Sam Huff: Contract selected by Baltimore
Baltimore selected Huff's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
After recently being signed to a minor-league deal on July 6, Huff is back with the big-league club. This marks the third time this season that the 28-year-old has had his contract selected by the Orioles. In 23 plate appearances in the majors, Huff has slashed just .174/.174/.261 with no homers and one RBI. Baltimore optioned Cam Sanders to Norfolk to make room for Huff on the active roster and transferred Ryan Helsley (elbow) to the 60-day IL to make room for him on the 40-man roster.

Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Out for series finale
Rutschman is absent from Sunday's lineup against Houston, Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com reports.
Rutschman, who went 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout in Saturday's game, will ride the pine for the series finale. Samuel Basallo will be behind the plate and bat fifth for Baltimore.

Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Strikes out eight in no-decision
Rogers did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Astros, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings.
Rogers opened with six scoreless innings before allowing a run in the seventh, throwing 72 of 99 pitches for strikes with 12 whiffs and departing in a 1-1 tie. The 28-year-old picked up where he left off heading into the All-Star break, as he's now logged five quality starts in his past six outings while allowing just five earned runs during that stretch. He'll carry a 4.28 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 77:32 K:BB across 96.2 innings this season into a home matchup with Atlanta next weekend.

Orioles' Cam Sanders: Earns first career save
Sanders earned the save in Saturday's 4-2 extra-innings win over the Astros, striking out one in a perfect 11th inning.
With Tyler Wells and Andrew Kittredge used in the previous two frames, Sanders was asked to close out a two-run lead in the 11th inning and did so on just nine pitches. The 29-year-old picked up his first major-league win and save in his first two outings with the Orioles after debuting with the club Friday. On the year, he owns a 7.36 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 15:10 K:BB across 11 innings with Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Lands five-year extension with O's
Bradish agreed to terms on a five-year, $90 million contract extension with the Orioles on Saturday.
Bradish's new deal will buy out the two years of team control he has remaining, as well as three years of free agency, and ensure the Orioles retain their ace through the 2031 campaign. The 29-year-old righty missed significant time in 2024 and '25 due to Tommy John surgery but has been fully healthy this year and sports a 3.61 ERA and 1.35 WHIP alongside a 106:50 K:BB through 107.1 innings.

Orioles' Tyler Wells: Records third save
Wells earned the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Astros, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.
Wells continues to come through for the Orioles in the ninth with Ryan Helsley (elbow) on the injured list. The right-hander stranded two Astros baserunners, locking down his third save of the year. In 36 games, the 31-year-old now has a 2.96 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 47:11 K:BB in 45.2 innings this season.

Ward went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 3-2 win over Houston on Friday.
Ward came to the plate in the eighth inning with his team trailing 2-1 before he belted the eventual game-winning homer. It marked the 32-year-old's second homer in his past three games. On the season, Ward has slashed .256/.388/.367 with seven homers, 27 RBI and three steals in 443 plate appearances.

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Fans five in Friday's start
Kremer picked up a no-decision after going four innings against Houston on Friday, allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out five.
Kremer completed his shortest start of the 2026 season after going just four innings on 83 pitches against the Astros. It was only the 30-year-old's third start back from the 60-day injured list after he missed extended time due to a right quad strain. Through five starts this season, Kremer now holds a 4.15 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB in 26 innings. The right-hander is projected to make his next start Wednesday against Boston.

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Moves to 60-day IL
The Orioles transferred Bassitt (back) to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Bassitt initially landed on the injured list June 8 due to back discomfort before undergoing surgery in late June to remove bone spurs from his back. His move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least Aug. 4 and also free up space on the Orioles' 40-man roster for Rudy Martin, who was acquired in a trade with the Royals on Friday.

Orioles' Rudy Martin: Shipped to O's, joining 40-man
The Orioles acquired Martin from the Royals on Friday and selected him to the 40-man roster, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.
Martin triggered the upward mobility clause in his minor-league deal with Kansas City on Wednesday, allowing the other 29 teams to add him to their 40-man roster. The Orioles took advantage of the opportunity and will now bring in a 30-year-old outfielder who has slashed .293/.417/.462 with nine homers, 30 RBI, 51 runs and 36 steals between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Martin will begin his tenure with the O's at Triple-A Norfolk.

Orioles' Blaze Alexander: No timeline for return
Alexander (hand) does not have a timeline to return from the 10-day injured list, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Alexander landed on the IL on Thursday due to a fractured left hand that he sustained against the Royals this past Sunday. The third baseman will undergo weekly checkups on his left hand and will begin physical activity once the bone heals. Coby Mayo is starting at third base Friday against the Astros, and he should see a bump in playing time at the hot corner for as long as Alexander is on the shelf.

Sanders was acquired from the Pirates earlier in the week. The 29-year-old right-hander has made 15 career appearances in the big leagues and has an 8.44 ERA, 2.06 WHIP and 17:15 K:BB across 16 innings.

Orioles' Christian Encarnacion-Strand: Joins big-league roster
The Orioles recalled Encarnacion-Strand from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Encarnacion-Strand will fill the 26-man roster spot vacated by Blaze Alexander, who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a broken left hand. Acquired from the Reds back in April, Encarnacion-Strand has slashed .273/.309/.555 with 17 homers, 48 RBI, 35 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 12:77 BB:K across 257 plate appearances with Norfolk this season. He mostly played first base during his time with Cincinnati the previous three campaigns but has seen more action at the hot corner this year at Triple-A.
