Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Not in Sunday's lineup
O'Hoppe is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Tigers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
O'Hoppe will receive a breather for the series finale after going 2-for-2 with a walk on Saturday. The 26-year-old will be replaced by Tyler Heineman behind the plate, and he will bat ninth for the Angels.

Angels' Grayson Rodriguez: Roughed up in defeat
Rodriguez (3-3) took the loss against Detroit on Saturday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over four innings.
Rodriguez had a daunting task facing off against Detroit ace Tarik Skubal, and a Tigers four-run first inning essentially put the game out of reach for the Angels. Rodriguez needed 87 pitches to get through four frames, and he's now finished fewer than five innings in four of his eight starts so far this season. The 26-year-old hurler has been very up-and-down when healthy enough to pitch, giving up three or fewer earned runs on four occasions and six-plus runs three times across those eight outings. The blow-ups have been more impactful to his overall line than the decent appearances, as altogether Rodriguez has a troubling 8.23 ERA and 1.77 WHIP across 35 innings.

Angels' Reid Detmers: Fans seven in no-decision
Detmers didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Tigers, allowing four hits and striking out seven without a walk over six scoreless innings.
This was undoubtedly a step in the right direction for Detmers, who had given up five earned runs in each of his final two starts before the All-Star break. Even with a few stumbles, Detmers has been a steady presence in the Angels' rotation this season, posting a 3.47 ERA and 1.03 WHIP across 46.2 innings and eight starts since the beginning of June. He's lined up to make his next start at home against the Cardinals.

Angels' Kirby Yates: Tagged with loss, blown save
Yates (0-5) was tagged with the loss and a blown save in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers. He allowed two runs on a hit and a walk across two-thirds of an inning while also hitting a batter.
Yates entered the game in the top of the ninth looking for his fourth save of the season, but instead he got tagged with his third blown save and fifth loss. He had recorded two outs and had runners on first and second when Hao-Yu Lee unleashed a two-run double that ended up giving Detroit the victory. Yates has made five appearances in July but owns a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across four innings.

Angels' Wade Meckler: Sitting Friday
Meckler is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Tigers on Friday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The Tigers are sending right-hander Troy Melton to the mound Friday, but the lefty-hitting Meckler will begin the contest on the bench while Josh Lowe, Mike Trout and Jo Adell start in the outfield from left to right. Meckler and Lowe are competing for outfield reps in the second half of the season now that Trout is back from the 10-day injured list.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Set for rehab assignment Friday
D'Arnaud (foot) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
D'Arnaud hasn't played since May 6 due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He's been running the bases for the past week -- the last step in his recovery before he begins a rehab assignment. The veteran backstop has a .614 OPS across 40 plate appearances this season.

Angels' Ben Joyce: Getting velocity back
Joyce (shoulder) averaged 100.2 mph with his fastball in a one-inning rehab appearance in the Arizona Complex League on Thursday, Taylor Blake Ward of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Joyce's fastball topped out at 102.3 mph, and he's now thrown 2.2 innings since resuming his rehab assignment following a setback in May. The hard-throwing right-hander was placed on the injured list just ahead of Opening Day and has yet to pitch in a big-league game this season. If all goes well, Joyce could potentially rejoin the Angels' bullpen later this month.

Angels' Gustavo Campero: Scheduled for rehab assignment
Campero (hand) will begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Monday.
Campero posted a .618 OPS in 28 games with the Angels in 2025, but he had played exclusively in the minors this season before he was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on June 6 and subsequently placed on the 60-day injured list due to a fractured right hand. He'll likely need an extended rehab assignment to get his timing back at the plate, but once Camepero is activated, expect the Angels to option him to Triple-A.
