Top Stars News

  • Stars' Roope Hintz: Adds pair of helpers

Hintz notched two assists and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Hintz helped out on goals by Wyatt Johnston (on the power play) and Jason Robertson. In January, Hintz has seven points, 32 shots on net and a plus-6 rating in 10 contests. He's at 14 goals, 24 helpers, 109 shots, 47 hits and a plus-17 rating through 45 outings overall. The 29-year-old remains firmly in a top-six role.

  • Stars' Thomas Harley: Dishes pair of helpers

Harley logged two assists, two shots on goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Harley set up Mavrik Bourque's power-play goal in the first period and an even-strength tally by Justin Hryckowian in the second. Both of those goals came in the final minute of their respective frames. Harley ended a five-game slump with the helper and is now at 18 points, 59 shots on net, 88 blocked shots, 25 hits and a minus-3 rating in 38 appearances. It's been a down year for the defenseman, who has logged totals of 47 and 50 points in the previous two regular seasons.

  • Stars' Mavrik Bourque: Goal, assist in blowout win

Bourque scored a power-play goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Bourque picked up his first multi-point effort since Nov. 8 in Nashville. The winger has earned four goals and three assists over his last 14 contests, which is decent work considering the Stars' fading fortunes on offense in that span. For the season, he's at eight goals, 18 points, 82 shots on net, 32 hits and a minus-4 rating through 50 appearances. If he can stay on a line with Jason Robertson and Roope Hintz, Bourque is in a good position to succeed.

  • Stars' Esa Lindell: Buries goal in win

Lindell scored a goal on two shots, blocked three shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Lindell ended his 18-game goal drought with a tally at 8:26 of the second period, which held up as the game-winner. During that span, he still contributed nine assists and 38 blocked shots. Lindell remains a defensive stalwart for the Stars, though he's added five goals, 21 points, 47 shots on net, 109 blocked shots and a plus-22 rating in 50 contests. He's on pace to reach the 30-point mark for the first time since 2018-19.

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Opens scoring on power play

Johnston scored a power-play goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Johnston has remained steady in January with six goals and three assists over 10 contests. That's actually a little bit of a decline for the 22-year-old, who has been above a point-per-game pace for the much of the season. Through 50 outings, he has 26 goals, 28 helpers, 26 power-play points, 126 shots on net and a minus-2 rating.

  • Stars' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Claimed by original team, sent to AHL

Kolyachonok was claimed off waivers by Dallas from Boston on Wednesday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

The Stars are getting Kolyachonok back after Boston claimed him off waivers Dec. 16. He has a goal, three points, four PIM, five hits and 13 blocks in 13 appearances between Dallas and Boston in 2025-26. Dallas has sent Kolyachonok to AHL Texas, per Stars beat writer Robert Tiffin. The Stars were able to do that without exposing him to waivers again because they were the original team to waive him.

  • Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Three helpers Tuesday

Heiskanen notched three assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins,

It was the blueliner's first multi-point performance since Dec. 19, and his first points at all since Jan. 4. Despite the lull to begin the new year, which came around a two-game absence to attend to a personal matter, Heiskanen still has seven goals and 39 points in 48 contests on the season, putting him on pace for his best numbers since he delivered a career-high 73 points in 2022-23.

  • Stars' Jason Robertson: Lights lamp twice in win

Robertson scored two goals in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

Both goals came in the third period, chasing Jeremy Swayman from the game with the Stars up 6-0. Since mid-November, Robertson hasn't gone more than three straight games without tickling twine, and he's up to 29 goals and 58 points in 50 contests on the season as he marches toward his third career 40-goal campaign.

  • Stars' Justin Hryckowian: Three points in Boston

Hryckowian scored a goal and added two assists, one on the power play, in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

The rookie helped set up goals in the first and second period, including Esa Lindell's game-winner, before Hryckowian got credit for Dallas' fourth goal when the puck pinballed off his skate at the side of the net and eventually got under Jeremy Swayman. It was the first multi-point performance of Hryckowian's career, and through 49 games this season the undrafted college player out of Northeastern has eight goals and 17 points.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Cruises to win Tuesday

Oettinger made 16 saves in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.

The 27-year-old netminder took a shutout into the third period before Morgan Geekie finally tipped a shot past Oettinger on a Boston power play, but Dallas already held a 6-0 lead at the that point. Oettinger has a rough beginning to January but seems to be turning things around, going 2-2-0 over his last four starts while giving up eight goals on 95 shots (.916 save percentage).

  • Stars' Brandon Gorzynski: One of each in WHL blowout win

Gorzynski scored a goal and added an assist in WHL Prince Albert's 12-2 win over Victoria on Tuesday.

Gorzynski is up to six goals and 11 helpers since he was traded to the Raiders from the Hitmen. Overall, he's up to 19 goals, 46 points and 117 shots on net over 39 appearances this season. That's already better than his 42-point output from 68 regular-season contests in 2024-25. The Stars prospect should continue to be a force on offense for a team that's in a four-way race for the top of the WHL standings.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Out of action Tuesday

Rantanen (illness) won't play Tuesday versus the Bruins, Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine reports.

Rantanen's absence will take a lot of scoring potential out of a lineup that's been struggling to fill the net lately. He has 19 goals and 63 points in 48 appearances this season. His next chance to play is Thursday in Columbus.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: In goal Tuesday

Oettinger will get the starting nod at home versus the Bruins on Tuesday, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports.

Oettinger has underwhelmed of late, securing just one win in his last seven outings while posting a 1-4-2 record and a 3.42 GAA. If the 27-year-old netminder can't right the ship soon, he could be in danger of missing the 30-win mark for the first time since 2020-21 when he was a rookie.

  • Stars' Oskar Back: Tallies lone goal in loss

Back scored a goal in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning.

Back ended an 11-game point drought with his first-period tally, but that goal was all the Stars could get past Andrei Vasilevskiy. The 25-year-old Back is up to four goals, four assists, 22 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 15 hits and a plus-4 rating over 39 appearances. He's been a regular in the Stars' bottom six, but he doesn't offer enough offense to help in most fantasy formats.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Yields three goals in loss

Oettinger stopped 22 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.

Oettinger didn't get the necessary goal support to steer him out of a rough patch. He's lost six of his last seven games (1-3-3), and this was the fifth time in that span he's given up at least three goals. For the season, Oettinger is down to 17-10-4 with a 2.69 GAA and a .902 save percentage over 31 starts. The Stars' next game is at home versus the surging Bruins on Tuesday, who come into that game on a six-game winning streak.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Facing Lightning on Sunday

Oettinger will defend the home goal versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, Stars' beat writer Robert Tiffin reports.

Oettinger has struggled of late, going 1-3-2 with a 3.48 GAA and an .872 save percentage across his last six starts. Overall, the netminder is 17-9-4 with a pair of shutouts, a 2.68 GAA and a .903 save percentage over 30 appearances. The Lightning are 11-0-1 in their last 12 games and are second in NHL scoring, generating 3.48 goals per game this season.
