  • Stars' Lian Bichsel: Returning Sunday

Bichsel (illness) will play Sunday against the Avalanche, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Bichsel will return to the Stars' lineup after missing their last game Friday. The 20-year-old blueliner has two goals, five points and a plus-6 rating through 22 games in his rookie campaign.

  • Stars' Roope Hintz: Ready to rock

Hintz (face) will play against Colorado on Sunday, according to Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News.

Hintz will return to a top-six role and see time on the first power-play unit after missing the last two games. He has accounted for 25 goals, 52 points, 132 shots on net, 38 blocked shots and 36 hits in 59 appearances this season. Hintz will replace Colin Blackwell in Sunday's lineup.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Back in net Sunday

Oettinger will guard the road net Sunday against the Avalanche, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Oettinger is looking to rebound from back-to-back losses in which he allowed a total of nine goals on 49 shots. He'll face a Colorado team that's averaging 3.33 goals per game this year. Overall, Oettinger is 30-15-2 with a .907 save percentage and a 2.52 GAA on the campaign.

  • Stars' Colin Blackwell: Competing for playing time

Blackwell went minus-2 in 11:21 of ice time in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Jets.

Blackwell has played in two straight games while Roope Hintz (face) is out. Prior to that, Blackwell was scratched for five straight contests. The 31-year-old's playing time outlook took a hit when the Stars acquired Mikko Rantanen -- Blackwell has mainly played as a right winger this year, and he became the odd man out after that trade. For the season, Blackwell has done alright in a limited role with 13 points, 56 shots on net, 75 hits and 21 blocked shots over 52 outings, but his place in the lineup is not guaranteed when the Stars are healthy up front.

  • Stars' Brendan Smith: Playing time remains sparse

Smith logged 15:17 of ice time in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Jets.

Smith had been scratched for the previous four games, but he was needed in place of Lian Bichsel (illness) in Friday's contest. The 36-year-old Smith has had trouble seeing anything more than part-time usage in 2024-25. He's at four assists, a minus-9 rating, 23 shots on net, 31 PIM, 36 hits and 20 blocked shots through 28 appearances in his first year with the Stars, and he'll likely head back to the press box when Bichsel is ready to play again.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Gives up four goals Friday

Oettinger stopped 18 of 22 shots in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Jets.

Oettinger has been one of the top netminders in the NHL this season, but he didn't have his best Friday and surrendered four goals. Friday's performance marked the ninth time he's given up four or more goals in a game this campaign. Oettinger, who has won 30 games for the fourth year in a row, still owns a solid 2.52 GAA and a .907 save percentage. One poor outing won't impact his fantasy stock dramatically, especially considering the opposition.

  • Stars' Mason Marchment: Scores Dallas' lone goal

Marchment scored a goal in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Jets.

Marchment found the back of the net late in the third period, but that tally wasn't enough to spark a potential comeback, as the Jets were holding a four-goal lead before Marchment's 16th goal of the campaign. The winger is playing well of late and has notched four points (two goals, two assists) over his last six appearances.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Between pipes Friday

Oettinger will guard the visiting cage in Winnipeg on Friday, per Mike Heika of the Stars' official site.

Oettinger had a tough time in Edmonton on Saturday, allowing five goals on 27 shots in a 5-4 loss. He is 30-14-2 with a 2.48 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 46 games in 2024-25. The Jets are producing 3.47 goals per game this season, third in the NHL.

  • Stars' Lian Bichsel: Ruled out against Jets

Bichsel (illness) won't be in the lineup for Friday's clash with Winnipeg, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports.

Bichsel will be replaced in the lineup by Brendan Smith, who will be suiting up for the first time since March 2 against the Blues. For his part, the 20-year-old Bichsel has managed two goals on 21 shots, three assists and 90 hits while averaging 14:57 of ice time over 22 appearances this year.

  • Stars' Kyle Capobianco: Back in NHL

Capobianco was recalled from AHL Texas on Friday.

Capobianco was called up as Lian Bichsel is day-to-day with an illness. Capobianco has played one game this season at the NHL level, picking up a pair of minors and going minus-2 in 11:23 of action Jan. 31 versus Vancouver. Capobianco had five goals, 30 assists and 50 PIM across 49 AHL games before his recall. He is likely the seventh defenseman Friday when the Stars face the Jets in Winnipeg.

  • Stars' Lian Bichsel: Questionable for Friday

Bichsel (illness) is likely to be a game-time Friday in Winnipeg, Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars reports.

Bichsel was under the weather when he woke up Thursday, head coach Peter DeBoer said, and was unsure whether or not Bichsel would be able to travel Thursday. The 20-year-old defenseman has two goals, three assists and 90 hits over 22 outings with Dallas this season. Should Bichsel sit out Friday, look for Brendan Smith to enter the lineup.

  • Stars' Roope Hintz: Might be available for Sunday

Hintz (face) won't return Friday versus Winnipeg, but he might be an option for Sunday's clash in Colorado, Mike Heika of the Stars' official site reports Wednesday.

Hintz didn't play in Sunday's 4-1 win over Vancouver due to the injury. He has 25 goals and 52 points in 59 appearances in 2024-25. When Hintz is ready to return, Jamie Benn will likely shift off the top six.

  • Stars' Angus MacDonell: Inks entry-level deal

MacDonell agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Dallas on Tuesday.

MacDonell has been putting up solid numbers with OHL Brampton this season, racking up 24 goals and 23 helpers in 39 outings. Selected by the Stars in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old center will likely need another year developing in juniors in addition to some time in the minors before making the jump to the NHL. At this point, MacDonell would be a long-term project for fantasy players.

  • Stars' Roope Hintz: Set to miss at least one week

Hintz (face) avoided suffering a fracture but is expected to miss at least a week, Sean Shapiro of DLLS Sports reports Tuesday.

Based on his timeline, Hintz will certainly miss the next two games, though it could certainly be longer depending on his recovery. Due to Hintz being on the shelf, the first-line center role is expected to go to Wyatt Johnston. Prior to getting hurt, the 28-year-old Hintz was rolling with three goals and 13 assists, including seven power-play points, in his last seven contests.

  • Stars' Ilya Lyubushkin: Manages helper in win

Lyubushkin notched an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Canucks.

Lyubushkin was on the wrong side of the highlight reel in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Oilers, as he got humbled on a one-on-one play against Connor McDavid as part of a minus-3 performance. Lyubushkin bounced back well, helping out on a Thomas Harley tally to open the scoring Sunday. Through 62 contests, Lyubushkin has 13 points, 39 shots on net, 71 hits, 101 blocked shots and a plus-10 rating this season. He'll never be a big scorer, but he hasn't thrown the body around enough in 2024-25 to justify a roster spot in most fantasy formats despite being two points shy of matching his career high from 2021-22.

  • Stars' Evgenii Dadonov: Puts up helper in win

Dadonov notched an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Canucks.

This was Dadonov's second straight game with a helper. Interestingly enough, his last six points have all come on the road, with Dallas playing 12 total contests in that span, including eight away from American Airlines Center. The veteran winger has been a reliable depth scorer in 2024-25 with 35 points, 106 shots on net and a plus-11 rating across 64 appearances. However, the Stars' significant forward depth means he'll likely finish the regular season in a bottom-six role at even strength.
