Oilers' Zach Hyman: Expected to play Saturday
Hyman (wrist) is set to make his season debut Saturday in Carolina, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports Thursday.
Hyman will miss Edmonton's first 19 games of the season, including Thursday's tilt against Columbus. His return should be a boost to the Oilers' offense, and he's likely to see time on the top line alongside Connor McDavid. Matthew Savoie will probably move out of the top six as a result of Hyman's return.

Oilers' Evan Bouchard: Ripples twine Wednesday
Bouchard scored a goal on four shots in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flyers.
Bouchard's offense has continued to be steady this month with five points over six outings in November. Overall, he has three goals, nine assists, 25 blocked shots, 49 shots on net, 10 PIM and a minus-9 rating over 18 contests. The Oilers have won two games in a row and may be building some momentum, which should help Bouchard improve his weaknesses while adding to his offense.

Oilers' Jack Roslovic: OT winner in second straight game
Roslovic scored the overtime winner in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Flyers.
Cam York couldn't corral a fluttering puck at center ice early in the extra frame, leading to a two-on-none break by the Oilers that Roslovic converted. It was the second straight game in which the 28-year-old has scored in OT, and after a sluggish start to his Edmonton tenure, Roslovic has broken out for five goals and 10 points in the last nine games.

Oilers' Matthew Savoie: Two helpers against Philly
Savoie picked up two assists in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flyers.
After helping to set up an Evan Bouchard tally in the final minute of the first period, Savoie worked a two-on-none break with Jack Roslovic in OT that produced the game-winner. It was Savoie's first multi-point performance of the season, and so far his spot on an even-strength line with Connor McDavid hasn't resulted in much offense for the 21-year-old -- Wednesday's effort snapped a five-game point drought, and Savoie has just one goal and four points in 18 contests to begin his first full NHL campaign.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Sharp in OT win
Skinner made 20 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Flyers.
A Matvei Michkov power-play tally late in the second period spoiled his shutout bid, but Skinner otherwise had an answer for everything Philly fired at him. The 27-year-old netminder has just one regulation loss in his last seven starts, going 4-1-2 over that stretch, but for the most part his success has been due to his offense -- he's got a 3.15 GAA and .876 save percentage in those seven outings.

Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Gets starting nod for Thursday
Pickard will be between the pipes for Thursday's road clash with the Blue Jackets, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Pickard has seriously underwhelmed this season, giving up four or more goals in four of his six outings to start the year. The veteran netminder is 2-2-1 with an .836 save percentage. With the Oilers utilizing Stuart Skinner on the road against the Flyers on Wednesday, that will give Pickard the nod for the second half of the back-to-back.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: In goal Wednesday
Skinner will get the starting nod on the road against the Flyers on Wednesday, Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels reports.
Skinner will make his fourth straight appearance in the crease, having gone 1-1-1 despite a 4.31 GAA in his last three outings. Fortunately for the 27-year-old backstop, he doesn't need to be perfect to pick up wins when backed by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Still, Skinner could be in danger of losing opportunities to Calvin Pickard if he doesn't improve his save percentage.

Oilers' Jake Walman: Pots two goals Monday
Walman scored two goals, including a shorthanded one, in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Walman attempted a pass when recovering the puck in the Blue Jackets' zone, but it deflected off the stick of a defender and went into the goal to tie the game 4-4 with less than a minute to go in the final period. That was Walman's second goal, as he had previously netted a snap shot at the 17:28 mark of the first frame. Walman has three goals and 10 points this season.

Oilers' Jack Roslovic: Scores game-winner in OT
Roslovic scored the game-winning goal in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. He also added an assist, two shots on goal, a blocked shot, two PIM and a plus-3 rating.
The 28-year-old winger was the hero for the Oilers in this game after scoring the game-winner just 56 seconds into the overtime period with a backhander. Roslovic continues to go through his most productive stretch of the season. He's now cracked the scoresheet in six of Edmonton's last eight games while tallying nine points (four goals, five assists) in that span.

Oilers' Connor McDavid: Scores twice, extends streak
McDavid scored two goals and took five shots on goal in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
McDavid came through when the Oilers needed him the most. The star center found the twine twice in the third period and reduced the Blue Jackets' lead to just one goal both times. This was the second time McDavid scored more than one goal in a single game this season, and his production remains off the charts. He's now riding a five-game point streak with 10 points (four goals, six assists) since the beginning of November.

Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Earns OT win Monday
Skinner stopped 15 of 19 shots in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.
Skinner got back into the win column after going 0-1-1 in his previous two starts. However, he needed a late equalizer from Jake Walman and an overtime goal from Jack Roslovic to do so. Skinner's role as the Oilers' primary goaltender isn't at risk, but the 27-year-old hasn't delivered very good results of late. He's gone 2-1-1 with a 3.61 GAA and an .852 save percentage in four outings this month, while sporting an .883 save percentage in 12 appearances this season -- if the campaign ended today, that would be his worst save percentage for any regular season in which he made at least 10 starts.

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Making season debut this week
Hyman (wrist) won't play in Philadelphia on Wednesday but will make his 2025-26 debut either in Columbus on Thursday or Saturday in Raleigh, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Tuesday.
Hyman is a possibility for Thursday's game, but the right-shot winger will definitely be available Saturday against the Hurricanes. Furthermore, the hope is for Hyman to be ready by Thursday, but that "will depend on final test," per Gregor. The 33-year-old could be eased into action in the early going, but he'll certainly fill a prominent role this season for a struggling Oilers club that is 7-6-4 to this point.

Oilers' Kasperi Kapanen: Shifts to LTIR
Kapanen (undisclosed) was put on long-term injured reserve Monday.
In corresponding moves, the Oilers activated Mattias Janmark (undisclosed) from injured reserve and placed Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (undisclosed) on the IR list. Kapanen will miss his 11th straight game against Columbus on Monday and could be trending toward a return around early December. He has registered two assists, four shots on goal, four blocked shots and 16 hits across six appearances this season.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Designated for IR
Nugent-Hopkins (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
With the news that Nugent-Hopkins was going to miss a week of action, and the Oilers needing a spot on the 23-man roster for Mattias Janmark (undisclosed), the decision to place Nugent-Hopkins on injured reserve shouldn't come as a surprise. In his stead, Noah Philp will get the first crack at the second-line center role while Leon Draisaitl shifts to Connor McDavid's wing.

Oilers' Mattias Janmark: Returning to action Monday
Janmark (undisclosed) will make his season debut Monday against the Blue Jackets, Paige Martin of Oilers TV reports.
Janmark sustained an undisclosed injury during training camp and was unavailable for the first month of the regular season. However, he's practiced with the team recently and will be able to return to game action against Columbus. He made 80 regular-season appearances for the Oilers last year, recording two goals, 16 assists, 45 hits, 35 blocked shots and 22 PIM while averaging 13:18 of ice time.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Set for one-week absence
Nugent-Hopkins (undisclosed) will be out of action for at least one week, according to Tony Brar of Oilers TV on Monday.
Nugent-Hopkins logged only 14:50 of ice time in Saturday's 9-1 loss to Colorado. It's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. He has collected five goals, 16 points and 23 shots on net across 16 appearances this season. With Nugent-Hopkins unavailable, Mattias Janmark (undisclosed) will come off injured reserve to make his season debut in Monday's game against Columbus.
