  • Kraken's Victor Ostman: Shows well in first start

Ostman stopped 33 of 35 shots in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Avalanche.

He didn't face the full brunt of Colorado's attack, as the hosts rested a few players. Ostman still faced plenty of pressure, but he put forth a good effort. The Kraken lost because they couldn't solve opposing goalie Scott Wedgewood. With the Kraken's season over, expect Ostman and Niklas Kokko to be reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley in the coming days.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Likely out again Thursday

Grubauer (lower body) is not expected to be available Thursday versus the Avalanche.

Grubauer wasn't named by head coach Lane Lambert in pregame, but the fact that Victor Ostman was indicated to be the starter suggests Grubauer remains out. The 34-year-old Grubauer will finish with a 13-12-4 record, a 2.65 GAA and a .909 save percentage in 32 appearances, his best ratios in five years for the Kraken. He'll be in a contract year in 2026-27. If Grubauer's injury isn't too serious, he could also be a contender to be invited in May to the IIHF World Championship for Germany.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Slated to be out

Daccord (lower body) is not expected to play Thursday versus the Avalanche.

Head coach Lane Lambert hinted that Victor Ostman would start, and that makes it likely Daccord will not be in uniform since Ostman is up with the big club under emergency conditions. Daccord will end the season at 20-20-6 with a 3.03 GAA and an .896 save percentage, his worst numbers in three years as a starter for the Kraken.

  • Kraken's Victor Ostman: Slated to start finale

Ostman will guard the road goal versus the Avalanche on Thursday.

Head coach Lane Lambert didn't specifically name Ostman, but referenced the goalie for the game is making his first appearance. That's true for Ostman, who has spent the bulk of the year in the AHL with Coachella Valley, going 17-14-3 with a 2.77 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 35 games. He came up from the AHL over the weekend to provide depth while Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer close out the season on the shelf due to their respective lower-body injuries.

  • Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Won't play Thursday

Schwartz (upper body) is expected to miss Thursday's season finale against Colorado, according to Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network.

Schwartz will finish the season with 11 goals and 26 points in 50 outings with the Kraken. The 33-year-old has completed his five-year, $27.5 million contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

  • Kraken's Shane Wright: Scores in return

Wright scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.

Wright returned from missing eight games due to an upper-body injury and was the only Kraken player to solve Carter Hart. The tally gives Wright 12 goals, 27 points, 97 shots on net, 58 blocked shots, 51 hits and a plus-6 rating over 73 appearances this season. That's a large step back from his 44-point campaign in 2024-25, though it's possibly just a sophomore slump -- Wright is still young enough to be a breakout candidate next year.

  • Kraken's Niklas Kokko: Fades in third period

Kokko allowed four goals on 26 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.

That's now consecutive losses for Kokko after he won his NHL season debut Saturday versus the Flames. He's allowed nine goals on 82 shots while going 1-2-0. The Kraken are back in action Thursday versus the Avalanche, and it's unclear which direction Seattle will go for goaltending in that contest. The healthy options on the roster are Kokko or Victor Ostman.

  • Kraken's Ryden Evers: Racks up three points

Evers scored a goal and added two assists in WHL Penticton's 5-2 win over Prince George in Game 4 on Wednesday.

Evers has five points over the last two games, helping the Vees even the series at 2-2. This postseason, he's earned six goals and five helpers over nine appearances. That's after a 74-point effort in 67 regular-season contests, which earned the undrafted Evers an entry-level contract with the Kraken in early March.

  • Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Still out Wednesday

Grubauer (lower body) won't suit up Wednesday versus the Golden Knights, per the NHL media site.

Grubauer will miss a fifth straight game due to the injury. He was on the ice before Monday's morning skate against the Kings, but it's unclear if he accompanied the team on the road. That casts plenty of doubt on his availability for Thursday's regular-season finale against the Avalanche.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Out of lineup again

Daccord (lower body) won't suit up versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Daccord will miss his third straight game, and it is looking unlikely that he will return before the end of the campaign. The Kraken have one remaining game on the 2025-26 schedule, a road matchup against the Avalanche on Thursday.

  • Kraken's Shane Wright: Returning to lineup Wednesday

Wright (upper body) will play Wednesday versus the Golden Knights, per the NHL media site.

Wright will return from an eight-game absence and is expected to fill a middle-six role. The 22-year-old went 16 games without a goal prior to the injury, adding just four assists and 12 shots on net in that span, so he's unlikely to provide much of a boost in fantasy over the Kraken's last two games.

  • Kraken's Niklas Kokko: Starting in Vegas

Kokko will guard the road goal versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Kokko is 1-1-0 with five goals allowed on 56 shots over the last two games while he fills in at the NHL level. This will be his third straight start, and he could go again Thursday versus the Avalanche if Joey Daccord (lower body) and Philipp Grubauer (lower body) both remain out.

  • Kraken's Jaden Schwartz: Unavailable Wednesday

Schwartz (upper body) won't play Wednesday versus the Golden Knights.

Schwartz's injury could also keep him out of Thursday's season finale versus the Avalanche. The 33-year-old winger has been limited to 26 points in 50 appearances this season, his lowest totals in both areas in the last four years. Jani Nyman is likely to play in Schwartz's absence.
