  • Kraken's Kaapo Kakko: Dresses, gets assist in Finnish win

Kakko picked up an assist for Finland in a 4-3 overtime win over Sweden on Saturday at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal.

Kakko was a healthy scratch in the Finn's 6-1 loss to the United States on Thursday, but he slotted in on the fourth line Saturday in place of Joel Armia. By the midway point of the second period, Kakko was on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Mikko Rantanen, and the move paid off with the trio getting the game-tying tally. Kakko can win battles, go to the net and play with high-end talent. He has been productive with Seattle since being acquired from the Rangers and could get an additional confidence boost if he remains in a top-six role for Finland in Monday's matchup versus Canada.

  • Kraken's Jordan Eberle: Heads to AHL for conditioning

Eberle (pelvis) was sent to AHL Coachella Valley on a conditioning loan Wednesday.

Eberle is on long-term injured reserve, but he's getting close to a return. The winger participated in full-contact practices prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off break, and the Kraken have the luxury of giving him a look in the AHL prior to their NHL schedule resuming Feb. 22 in Florida. Eberle will likely get a couple of games with the Firebirds before returning to the big club.

  • Kraken's Jagger Firkus: Decent work in first pro season

Firkus has earned nine goals and 23 points over 45 appearances with AHL Coachella Valley this season.

Firkus earned two points per game in the 2023-24 regular season with WHL Moose Jaw, racking up 61 goals and 65 assists over 63 appearances. He added 36 points over 24 outings between the WHL playoffs and the Memorial Cup. Being an undersized and creative winger didn't hold Firkus back in junior hockey, but playing against men in the AHL has slowed down his production. He's got an excellent shot and good vision -- all he needs now is more development time, which the Kraken are likely to give him before he gets an NHL look.

  • Kraken's Carson Rehkopf: Slight uptick in 2024-25

Rehkopf has earned 31 goals and 35 assists over 40 games with OHL Brampton this season.

It's his first year with Brampton -- Rehkopf began his OHL career with Kitchener, where he had 52 goals and 95 points over 60 regular-season games in 2023-24. He's on a slightly improved points-per-game pace this season, though he was limited to two appearances without earning a point during the World Junior Championship. The second-round pick from 2023 is likely to need some time with AHL Coachella Valley before challenging for a spot on the Kraken's roster.

  • Kraken's Berkly Catton: Offense reaches another level

Catton is averaging nearly two points per game (79 points over 40 contests) in 2024-25 with WHL Spokane.

Catton had 116 points over 68 contests in his draft year, enticing the Kraken into selecting him eighth overall in 2024. He's been part of Spokane's leadership group for the last two years, including wearing the "C" as the team captain this season. Spokane is setting up for a big run this season after acquiring Capitals prospect Andrew Cristall midseason, and Catton's improved offense has helped the team stay in the mix in the WHL's Western Conference. Catton could push for NHL minutes in 2025-26, as it's clear he has little left to prove in the junior ranks.

  • Kraken's Eduard Sale: Impresses at Worlds

Sale racked up six goals and two helpers at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Sale's first year in the AHL has been decidedly less successful, as he has generated just 15 points in 31 games. Considering the 19-year-old winger has yet to show a strong scoring touch even in the OHL, where he managed 15 goals and 23 helpers in 49 contests, it's hard to see him developing into the player he was expected to be when the Kraken took him with the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Kraken's Victor Ostman: Summoned from ECHL

Ostman was recalled from ECHL Kansas City on Sunday.

Seattle loaned Ales Stezka to AHL Coachella Valley in a corresponding move. Ostman is likely on Seattle's roster as a placeholder and will return to the ECHL after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

  • Kraken's Ales Stezka: Dropped to minors

Stezka was assigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday.

Seattle recalled Victor Ostman from ECHL Kansas City in a corresponding move. Stezka will probably return to the Kraken after the 4 Nations Face-Off break to be Joey Daccord's backup.

  • Kraken's Cale Fleury: Assigned to AHL

Fleury was loaned to AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday.

Fleury has one assist, seven shots on goal, 15 blocked shots and 11 hits in seven NHL outings this season. There's a good chance the 26-year-old Fleury will return to the Kraken after the 4 Nations Face-Off break, especially if Ryker Evans (upper body) and Brandon Montour (upper body) are unavailable to play.

  • Kraken's Mitchell Stephens: Hits waivers

Stephens was placed on waivers Sunday.

Stephens has one goal, two assists, 18 shots on net and 22 hits through 25 NHL appearances this season. If he clears waivers, he might report to AHL Coachella Valley during the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off or stay with the Kraken as the team's fourth-line center. Either way, he could still be in the lineup Feb. 22 against Florida.

  • Kraken's Adam Larsson: Puts up helper in overtime win

Larsson logged an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Larsson had to pick up some slack in ice time, logging 26:37 after Brandon Montour (upper body) was hurt in the first period. The extra time helped Larsson end an eight-game point drought when he set up Shane Wright's tally to spark the Kraken's comeback. The 32-year-old Larsson is now at 13 points, 72 shots on net, 77 hits, 113 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 57 appearances. It's a similar pace to last season (18 points in 81 outings), though Larsson's physical play has taken a significant step back, reducing his fantasy utility.

  • Kraken's Vince Dunn: Sets up game-winner

Dunn registered a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Dunn has two goals and four helpers over his last 10 outings. He ended up seeing a heavy workload (29:18 of ice time) after Brandon Montour (upper body) exited in the first period. Dunn is no stranger to extra minutes as a top-pairing defenseman. He's up to 25 points (eight on the power play), 87 shots on net, 41 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 37 contests overall.

  • Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Secures helper in overtime

Stephenson notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Stephenson has two goals and three helpers over his last five outings. He had the secondary assist on Matty Beniers' overtime goal Saturday, completing a comeback win for the Kraken. Stephenson is up to 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists), 57 shots on net, 33 blocked shots, 24 hits, 22 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 56 appearances. It took him some time to settle into Seattle's system, but Stephenson has been pretty steady since the start of January.

  • Kraken's Matty Beniers: Completes comeback win in overtime

Beniers scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Beniers tallied at 2:58 of overtime to complete the Kraken's comeback win, cashing in on Morgan Frost's holding penalty. This was Beniers' second goal over the last three games, and he's racked up six tallies and three helpers across his last 14 outings. For the season, the 22-year-old center has 31 points (five on the power play), 101 shots on net, 50 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 57 appearances in a top-line role.

  • Kraken's Andre Burakovsky: Goal, helper in comeback

Burakovsky scored a goal, dished an assist and added two hits in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Burakovsky helped fuel the Kraken's comeback. He assisted on Shane Wright's goal to get the team on the board, then scored the game-tying goal to force overtime. Burakovsky has three points over his last three contests, matching his total from the previous 15 contests combined. The 30-year-old is in a third-line role, though playing alongside Wright has been beneficial. For the season, Burakovsky is at 21 points, 81 shots on net and a minus-6 rating through 54 games.

  • Kraken's Shane Wright: Fuels comeback with two points

Wright scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Wright got the Kraken on the board at 13:12 of the third period, and he set up Andre Burakovsky's tying tally a couple of minutes later. With nine points over the last eight contests, Wright is one of the Kraken's hottest forwards right now. The 21-year-old center has settled in on the third line and is playing up to his lofty No. 4 draft position in 2022 despite averaging 13:32 of ice time per game. Wright is at 12 goals, 19 helpers, 56 shots on net, 41 hits, 39 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 54 appearances this season.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Holds on for overtime win

Daccord stopped 27 of 29 shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Daccord's three-game skid, which started against the Flames last Sunday, came to an end as the Kraken pulled off a comeback in this contest. Seattle trailed 2-0 in the third period, but a pair of goals over a two-minute span tied the contest, and Matty Beniers scored on the power play in overtime to get Daccord back in the win column. Daccord improved to 19-14-3 on the season, and he has a 2.49 GAA and a .915 save percentage through 38 appearances. He's been a steady goalie and has gone unchallenged by Ales Stezka for starts since Philipp Grubauer was waived and demoted to AHL Coachella Valley in late January. The Kraken exit the 4 Nations Face-Off break with a brutal road back-to-back against the Panthers on Feb. 22 and the Lightning on Feb. 23.

  • Kraken's Brandon Montour: Injured Saturday

Montour (upper body) won't finish Saturday's game versus the Flames.

Montour was injured in the first period and was unable to return. The 30-year-old defenseman's injury comes at a decent time -- the Kraken don't play again until Feb. 22 versus the Panthers, so he shouldn't miss any additional time if it's a short-term issue. If it ends up being a more serious injury, the Kraken will likely need to call up a defenseman, though they could fill the gap if Ryker Evans (upper body) gets healthy during the break.

  • Kraken's Joey Daccord: Expected to face Calgary

Daccord is set to start on the road against Calgary, per Ryan Pike of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Daccord has gone 0-2-1 over his past three starts while allowing 10 goals on 105 shots (.905 save percentage). He's 18-14-3 with a 2.51 GAA and a .915 save percentage in 37 appearances in 2024-25. He's gone 1-1-0 against Calgary this season and stopped 53 of 57 shots (.930 save percentage) over those games.
