Top Blues News

  • Blues' Radek Faksa: Generates helper Thursday

Faksa notched an assist and four hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets.

Faksa had picked up just one point, a goal, over his prior 11 outings. He helped out on an Alexei Toropchenko tally in the third period as the Blues ran away with this win. Faksa's first year with the Blues saw him put up 15 points, 68 shots on net, 115 hits, 50 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 70 regular-season appearances, so he's not likely to be a regular name on the scoresheet in the playoffs.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Sets up opening tally

Snuggerud registered an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Snuggerud has a goal, an assist, three shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over three playoff contests. The 20-year-old winger set up a Pavel Buchnevich tally just 48 seconds into this game. Snuggerud isn't exactly being sheltered in the playoffs -- he's seeing consistent top-six minutes and power-play time, and so far, he's looked up to the challenge.

  • Blues' Jake Neighbours: Records assist in win

Neighbours notched an assist, two shots on goal and nine hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Neighbours has picked up an assist in three of the last four contests. He has two helpers, four shots on net, 21 hits and a minus-2 rating over three playoff outings. Neighbours' physical style makes him a good fit in a middle-six role during the postseason, though expectations are up for his scoring after his 22-goal, 46-point performance over 82 regular-season games.

  • Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Puts away goal in win

Toropchenko scored a goal and added five hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Toropchenko's tally midway through the third period chased Connor Hellebuyck from the contest. This was Toropchenko's first goal since March 22. Over the 13 games in between goals, the winger had just one assist with a minus-5 rating and 50 hits. He's a fourth-line fixture for the Blues, and given his 18-point regular season over 80 appearances, he shouldn't be counted on for an uptick in offense during the postseason.

  • Blues' Colton Parayko: Lights lamp late in win

Parayko scored a power-play goal on three shots, went plus-3, added three hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets.

Parayko has two goals over five contests since he returned from a knee injury. The 31-year-old has largely been quiet on offense in the playoffs -- this was his first point to go with six shots on net, a minus-1 rating, four hits and five blocked shots over three postseason contests. Even if he doesn't do much scoring, Parayko's defensive presence will be a big part of the Blues' overall structure. He had career highs in goals (16) and points (36) over 64 regular-season outings.

  • Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Tacks on power-play goal

Kyrou scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Kyrou has scored two power-play goals on eight shots over the first three games of the playoffs. He's still seeing top-six minutes and ample power-play time, which gives Kyrou plenty of chances to make an impact. He may not be the Blues' top scorer, but he should be pretty consistent on offense.

  • Blues' Robert Thomas: Shows off playmaking in win

Thomas notched four assists, including two on the power play, added two PIM and went plus-3 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Thomas had two assists in each of the first and third periods as the Blues dominated on home ice. This was Thomas' third four-point effort since March 25. He's put up five points, five shots on net, three hits and a minus-1 rating over three playoff contests. Thomas is playing on the first line and first power-play unit, so he's in a great position to continue putting up substantial scoring numbers.

  • Blues' Cam Fowler: Elite performance in win

Fowler scored a goal on five shots, distributed four assists, went plus-3, added two hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Fowler is just the ninth defenseman in NHL history with a five-point playoff game. Fowler was involved in the Blues' first three goals, including scoring the eventual game-winner at 15:51 of the first period. Three of his four helpers were on the power play. The blueliner is up a goal, six assists (five on the power play), eight shots on net, four blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over three postseason outings. As if there was any doubt left, Fowler is the Blues' top defenseman for offense during the playoffs.

  • Blues' Pavel Buchnevich: Hat trick, assist in win

Buchnevich scored three goals on five shots, dished an assist, went plus-3 and added six hits in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

Buchnevich had two goals just 3:11 into the game, and he later added an assist on a Cam Fowler tally late in the first period before completing his hat trick in the third. The 30-year-old Buchnevich has six points, six shots on net, seven hits and an even plus-minus rating over three playoffs contests. Dating back to March 29, he has racked up nine goals and seven assists over 11 games.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Victorious on home ice

Binnington stopped 16 of 18 shots in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Jets in Game 3.

After a couple of close losses in Winnipeg, the Blues bounced back with a big Game 3 win on home ice. Binnington wasn't tested all that much Thursday, and he's now allowed eight goals on 65 shots over three playoff contests. He'll likely be back between the pipes with a chance to even the series in Sunday's Game 4.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Set to start in Game 3

Binnington is expected to start at home against Winnipeg for Game 3 on Thursday, per Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Binnington and the Blues will attempt to get back into the win column after dropping the first two games of the series. He stopped 41 of 47 shots (.872 save percentage) over that stretch. Binnington also had a 28-22-5 record, 2.69 GAA and .900 save percentage in 56 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Winnipeg was tied for third during the regular season in goals per game with 3.35.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Nets lone goal on power play

Snuggerud scored a power-play goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Jets in Game 2.

Snuggerud was responsible for allowing the Jets to open the scoring, but he made up for it with a buzzer beater at the end of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. The 20-year-old winger saw 20:01 of ice time in this contest, a career high in just nine appearances between the regular season and playoffs. He's earned two goals, three assists and 13 shots on net in that span. Snuggerud is an interesting DFS play for the remainder of the first round, but the Blues are down 2-0 in the series, so their playoff run may not be a long one.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Stuck with tough Game 2 loss

Binnington turned aside 20 shots in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Jets in Game 2 of their first-round series.

Winnipeg's opening goal late in the first period was particularly tough to swallow, as Binnington successfully poke-checked Mark Scheifele on a rush, only for a retreating Jimmy Snuggerud to deflect the puck into his own net. Binnington played better than he did in Game 1 but had the same result to show for it, and the 31-year-old netminder has now given up six goals on 47 shots to begin the Blues' postseason run. Binnington will need to maintain Monday's level of play and get more help from his teammates if they're going to get back into the series when it shifts to St. Louis for Game 3 on Thursday.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Between pipes versus Jets

Binnington will tend the road twine for Game 2 against Winnipeg on Monday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Binnington has been struggling for victories of late, going 1-2-1 with a 2.96 GAA in his last four appearances, including a Game 1 loss Saturday. Still, the 31-year-old backstop shouldn't be expected to cede the starting role to Joel Hofer any time soon. During the regular season, the Jets converted on the power play at a league-best 28.9 percent rate, so Binnington will no doubt be begging his teammates to stay out of the box.
